A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Yes, yes, this is yet another RPG Maker vore game from a maker with little to no resources. That being said, it does have a few specificities:

  • You will be playing as a dragon named Yaxi, who is mostly a predator.
  • The gameplay is centered around eating preys and digesting them.
  • You will have to avoid indigestion, avoid overeating, and deal with the special abilties of each prey. There is no traditional RPG battles, this is all in real time.

The Guardian Dragon takes place in a wacky science-fantasy universe. There is a storyline but I want to keep it very simple in order to maximize the efficiency of the gameplay, so don't expect something crazy on this side.

The story for now starts when Yaxi, a dragon living with other dragons on a heavenly tropical island, finds a human baby who fell from the sky. It quickly becomes clear that the army of the powerful Tarask Kingdom is trying to kidnap this baby and has already kidnapped his twin. Yaxi goes on a quest to reunite the two twins and deliver them to their rightful parents, but the Tarascian army stands in his way...

The game revolves around two types of enemies: minions and bosses. You can gulp down minions simply by pressing the interaction key (Enter or Space) when standing near them. As they are trapped in Yaxi's stomach, the minions take digestion damage (their life is cumulative since I assume several preys would be more difficult to digest than one), and they inflict damage to Yaxi in return. If the minions' health is reduced to 0, they are turned into mana.
Mana is then used to defeat bosses, although some bosses will also be gulpable.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You can change the "speed" of the game by changing the "Digestion wait time" in the settings. Due to a bug, this value might be set to 1 the first time you launch the game, making it almost unplayable. So be sure to visit this setting (the default should be 30)

I'm pretty happy of how this demo looks. It has 1 prey ability, a few interesting items... Ultimately, the game will have an RPG progression, where you earn skill points after defeating bosses, and spend them on stat upgrades, but for now this is not implemented.

Install instructions

This is an RPG Maker game. On Windows, decompress the zip into a directory, and run game.exe.

I'm not sure how it works on Linux. I guess you have to decompress the zip into a directory, and then run Game.desktop with the dex command, like this:
dex <game_path>/Game.desktop
But I can be wrong about that...

This is a very unique combat mechanic. No attacks at all besides eating? (and the occasional breath) You got my interest. Eating feels satisfying despite the lack of an animation (although I'm sure a good eating animation could still improve it, but I don't know how to do it without ruining the fast-paces eating you could do now), and looks like with the unimplemented mechanics it would become something that would stay fun for a full game's duration. Although, there were a few things that would do differently: 1st, I think that when you vomit  for any reason, all the enemies that you had in your stomach should be spilled in front of you, but stunned for a second or 2 to let you escape, else, the game is too easy. As long as you got enough mana, if you encounter a group of enemies and just eat them all to get rid of them. 2nd, I think that the player should be able to use the fire breath on minions too in case they are overwhelmed, and 3rd, I think enemies should follow you even when you switch areas, so you either have to run far enough from their current location to de-agrro, or deal with them. And one note that may be a bug: The song birds could activate their ability at any moment while being digested. I once had a single song bird waste all 3 coffees available in the demo and still managing to get me to fall asleep. Maybe make the coffee give you a temporary "awake" buff that prevents sleeping foe some time? Also, what is the point of punching your stomach? It doesn't seems to boost digestion much beyond what normal HP you would loose. Anyway, I can't wait for the next update.

Was a fun little demo. O look forward to seeing more.

the story’s foundation reminds me of Yoshi’s island, but the game looks good with how the demo is.

这个演示很短,但也很有想象力,但不幸的是vore没有任何表现的感觉,如果可能的话,我希望在vore或消化方面有一些表现,或者我可以在BOSS之后有一个vore,一些描述或CG。
